During her graduate studies at Indiana University, Monique Mead wrote a novel, a screenplay, a set of short stories and received a Minor in Creative Writing. Her current focus is on two instructional books:

The Art of Audience Engagement: A Musician's Guide to Being an Effective Teaching Artist

Going hand in hand with her university course by the same title, Mead draws on 20 years' experience to codify the techniques she has used to engage audiences of all ages. The book includes step-by-step guides to creating school workshops, interactive assemblies, educational concerts, lecture/performance series, and visits to community groups. Between the Notes: A String Player's Guide to Musical Interpretation

Collaborating with Dr. Deborah Rambo Sinn and Oxford University Press, Monique Mead is working on a string player's version of Sinn's very successful book, Playing Beyond the Notes: A Pianist's Guide to Musical Interpretation. Written in a down-to-earth, accessible style, the book will
