Shadyside Porch Concerts 2026
Porch Concerts 2026
Launched during the pandemic to connect with neighbors during isolation, Shadyside Porch Concerts continues as a labor of love by Monique Mead and her children, Isabel and Tino Cardenes. The intention is to create community through music.
From June 13 to August 1, our 2026 season features some audience favorites as well as new ensembles with the return of Cello Fury and a first appearance by Devilish Merry—Pittsburgh’s iconic Appalachian band. You’ll hear Tino Cardenes & Friends in a Piano Extravaganza as well as a Latin Jazz concert. And of course, no season would be complete without Harp Heaven with Isabel Cardenes—and mom, Monique. With a look to the future, our annual Rising Stars program highlights some of Pittsburgh’s finest young talent as well.
Bring a lawn chair, some drinks, and a couple of friends! Set up on the lawn or driveway starting at 6:30 PM. Concerts begin at 7:00 PM and last about an hour. Children are welcome—please keep pets on the sidewalk. Note that there are no public restrooms.
Everyone is welcome. Admission is free and donations are gratefully accepted to support our talented musicians. No tickets or RSVP needed!

Why we do it
Music is a gift that amplifies our humanity.
Every year when we see people gather on the lawn, feel the warmth of the summer evening, melt into gorgeous melodies, or flow into a communal groove, we experience a reality that aligns with our vision of the world we wish to live in.
