This exclusive sound bath concert blends live music, soothing soundscapes, and a floral offering to melt away stress and invite you to float on an ocean of peace. In this 90-minute experience, you'll have the opportunity to honor the mothers and nurturers in your life by placing blossoms into a beautiful floral mandala floating within a singing bowl that will be played during the sound bath, amplifying your loving connection.

Hygge (pronounced "hoo-gah") is the Danish art of creating coziness, comfort, and connection, especially during the colder months. This February, embrace the warmth and relaxation of Hygge with a candlelit sound bath experience with concert violinist, Monique Mead. 

Sink into ultimate comfort with beanbags, blankets, and eye masks as soothing sounds of singing bowls and gongs wash over you, leaving you deeply relaxed.

Carnegie Library East Liberty hosts a free community sound bath with Monique. You'll lie comfortably as Monique guides you to stillness with singing bowls, ocean drum and beautiful violin serenades. 

We ask that you bring your own comfort items for lying on the floor, such as a mat, pillow, blanket and eye cover.

Dedicated to promoting peace in the New Year, Monique Mead leads 15 professional musicians and sound practitioners to envelop you in an immersive soundscape like no other.

Stretch out on a pew, gaze up at the stained glass windows, and absorb the healing sounds resonating from 60+ singing bowls as they blend with the sublime melodies of violin, harp, and flute. Find stillness as the sounds guide you to a space of timeless presence.

This hands-on workshop is hands-down the best way to learn to play singing bowls in a fun, creative environment. On four consecutive Saturdays, you’ll practice creating relaxing soundscapes, building one segment at a time until we have a full sound bath to perform for your friends. Saturdays at 3-4:30 PM, Nov. 2-23. $195

Building on the fundamentals learned in Level 1, this training offers new techniques to equip you with musical knowledge and powerful skills that shift consciousness and produce transformative results in your sound healing practice. With your Level 2 Certificate in the Mead Sound Method, you’ll gain access to a full sound bath protocol that effectively reduces stress by 70%, according to a recent study at Carnegie Mellon University. The course is offered in person and online and requires solid fundamental skills with singing bowls. More information.

Celebrating their collaboration of 10 years, Monique performs Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante together with violist Warren Davidson and the Edgewood Symphony, conducted by Walter Morales.

With your Level 1 Certificate, you’ll be able to create short intention-based soundscapes with 1 or 2 bowls.
